What is Event Volunteering?
Volunteering can be defined as the helping out in the organisation of an event or on the day the event takes place. You might be asked to fill a number of roles, eg:
- Setting up the event
- Crowd management - marshalling - people or traffic
- Giving out resources - information, passes, drinks, T-shirts, medals
- Helping people - giving directions, assistance, support
- Keeping things secure - baggage and personal belongings
- Packing up, dismantling, and clearing the site
